--Dorumagesu 07:03, 24 November 2007 (PST) When I was working on my game, CUSTOM bugged and all of my attack data got screwed up. The descriptions got all messed, same with the captions, and all my sound effect data for each of my attacks were gone. When I tried to fix it, nothing really happened.

--Bob the Hamster: Please file a bug and put your game in a zip file and attach it to the bug.

--Bis_senchi I agree with Bob. It seems that you're having a problem with a new bug. Be sure you keep a copy of the sound effects on your hardrive you may have to import them several times before we know what make custom.exe "forget" them.

--(cont. from Dummy: The Happy Face Page) If you didn't want your RPG file tampered with, I highly suggest you rethink your password. I have defeated the boss, but the king has not registered this. May I know the version I'm supposed to play this with? I believe I have found what has happened. Not all of the tags are turning on properly. I'm not sure how I came to this situation, but I suggest making sure that something isn't skippable, or something like that where the player can end up with necessary tags turned off.--Calehay

--Oh, I must apologize. I didn't know that you actually expected me to read the text in your game. You tags concerning which text box to turn on with the king are completely fudged. The king asks you to get the emerald before saying that you've gotten it. Seriously, playtest your game. I also suggest at least perusing the HOWTO to learn how to make vehicles work properly. -- Calehay

--Dorumagesu 15:20, 30 December 2007 (PST) Oh geez Calehay, I have playtested my game nearly to the end so I know all that area and the vehicle stuff has nothing wrong, as I did what the HOWTO said exactly. How far are you anyway? And have you had the boat bug yet? That will screw it up. Please refer to file a bug for information about bugzilla. Please file a bug with description if you are willing to.

--TwinHamster 19:18, 30 December 2007 (PST) It's very beneficial to listen to criticism. Although it may be coming off a bit rough, you should try to learn from as much of it as possible. If one player has experienced a problem with your game, it is very likely that other people will also face problems with your game. Also, the Bugzilla is more oriented towards bugs within the OHRRPGCE and less towards the errors in individual games.

--Apparently, "Will you help me?" *Yes* "Go get the emerald!" *Gets emerald and talks to king* "Will you help me?" *WTF?* "Oh you got the emerald!," makes perfect sense and is not a bug. I guess being able to use a boat on land isn't a bug either (Which is not an OHR bug. Take a look at the World Map's passibility tiles and your vehicles. So no, I won't file it in Bugzilla.) and not having a door on the next town I'm supposed to visit isn't a bug either. This was all supposed to happen. You'll have to excuse me for being somewhat rough, but being accused of having some sort of malicious plan doesn't sit well with me, and I really don't know why I'm trying to help you anymore. I'm usually quite nice and helpful, but you have shown you don't want to improve your game. If you think this is rough or mean, be happy you haven't done something similar while trying to defend the other aspects of your "game." You'll be able to read my review in the next issue of HamsterSpeak, and hopefully that should help you, though considering how you've been here, I doubt it. -- Calehay

--If it happened to me, it could happen to anyone. That's what playtesting is about. You can't just play it once doing exactly what you're supposed to do and call it bug free. You're going to have to play around with the boat to find out exactly how I was able to get on land. You're going to have to make sure that the proper tags are turning on. And I can only assume that the one "actual mistake" is the biggest one, not having a door on the next town. That's humongous. You can't finish the game without that. Why release a game that can't be beaten and call it finished? If the scenario concerning the king is what you want (Which doesn't make sense to the player, I can assure you.) Then it is correct. I know what you did incorrectly if you would like for the king to not ask you to get the emerald after you've already retrieved it, but since it's perfect, I don't see any reason to waste my time explaining it to you. Also, in a rare twist, in a mere matter of minutes, I was able to fix the boat going on the land problem as well. I also have a feeling that I may know what is causing your reported boat bug problem, but since the game is perfect, I don't see why I should spend the time telling you. I will say that is might be OHR-bug related, but there is a work around. And I never called you stupid. Professional programmers have bugs in their work all of the time. It comes with the territory. I also assume that you're relatively new to the OHR. Why don't you think there are going to be problems? I'm accusing you of not having played your game before you released it, and it's pretty clear that you didn't. That's why there are bugs here that you could have noticed and fixed in a few seconds.

I'm sorry your game has bugs in it, but why don't you just fix them? Why don't you take DTHF off the site for a while and polish it. It may be lacking in other areas, but this could at least be a good tool for you to fine tune your understanding of the OHR.

Try to play some other games that are well made, then look at your very own game in comparison. Have your friends at school try out Vikings of Midgard, too. Also, try to hang out at some of the community forums instead of just the Wiki.

--Dorumagesu 06:21, 3 January 2008 (PST) I know it is a good idea to let my classmates play VoM, but people think OHRRPGCE is an easier program then Game Maker! They were rude when I did my presentation, and criticized the program while I was reading various things on the wiki.

--Calehay 08:58, 3 January 2008 (PST) The OHR is a very old and outdated engine (at least at the moment) and hasn't been very favorable to many. Game Maker and OHR also are made to do different things.

But why care what they think about the engine? You are obviously interested in the OHR (If I understand correctly, you did a school project on it?) Castle Paradox and Slime Salad are full of people that are quite interested in the engine, and are willing to help you.

Newbie McButts: Tell your classmates, that if they don't make something better than Darkmoor Dungeon with C++, then they can shove it.

--I am offended by the previous comment. We have a loud and obnoxious kid in our class, and he criticizes everything. Nevertheless, I understand your passion for the development tool. As for us disliking the tool, Omori's game was absolutely terrible. I can't imagine anyone liking it at all. I'm sure most of us based our judgement on the game's quality, and our shared hatred toward turn-based battle systems. I hope that cleared things up.

--Oh, and don't worry about our class' opinion on things. They're all noobs who think GameMaker is the best because that's the only thing they have ever heard of. All their games suck as bad as DTHF, and yet they're all snobby about everything.

Bob the Hamster, hey, Dorumagescu, what is the licence on that midi file you added to the Free Music page a while back. I am guessing you meant it to be public domain, but I wasn't sure, so I wanted to check.
